Glass Artists
Wang Qin
Artist Statement
I respect glass as a material and don’t want to control it. I try to talk to the glass and understand it; merge with it to achieve an utterly harmonious connection between my heart and the material.
In glass art, the language, style and skills are like the air: they ensure communication between the artistic form and the soul, achieve the crystal clear artistic expression, and help avoid over-elaboration of skill. The attitude toward the material is not only physical and technical. More important are the choices taking place in the mind of the artist.
